What is your next adventure?

As I was sitting on the beach reading O magazine I ran across a testimony which got me thinking… Oprah has dubbed 2017 as her Year of Adventure, kind of shocking when you think about it. I look at Oprah’s life as an adventure. Well, this reader shared a snipit of how she has dedicated her life to her family and others needs, while putting her life on hold many years. In Mom world that means taking care of hubby, kids, work…. and we are honored to do so! ❤️ We work really hard to get self-care in every once in a while, but that does not equate to adventure. Just so we are clear Mom, you should be doing something for yourself everyday…ijs. So when did it become acceptable to wait until the kids get out of the house to seek adventure? The game has got change…

What is adventure? An adventure is an exciting or unusual experience. I know life is an adventure everyday with kids, you never know what may happen next! However, we all want to experience personal adventures, why wait? You are a Mom, therefore you can do damn near anything so make it happen for yourself. It is ok to be selfish sometimes and focus on your dreams and still be a wife and mom. Society has taught us that we should put our life on hold and live vicariously through others. Not true and I’ve pissed a lot of people off regarding this notion because I don’t follow the rules. Don’t be scared Mama, do what makes you happy! If you want to skydive, do it! Life should be an adventure because you only get one chance to live it like you want. If you wait or listen to society you will find yourself looking back saying why didn’t I get my scuba diving certification or why didn’t I trek through the rain forest. You don’t want to look back and say why didn’t I… Life is a stage and you can do as many costume changes as you like! Set your goals, create a plan and go!
